Cyprus police conduct nationwide crime prevention patrols
Overnight on August 21, 2026, the Cyprus Police conducted a series of coordinated crime prevention patrols across urban areas nationwide. The primary goal of these operations was to enhance public safety, maintain order, and proactively deter criminal activities.
During the sweep, officers inspected 464 vehicles and checked 633 individuals, leading to the arrest of four people for offenses including drug possession, illegal residence in the country, and outstanding arrest warrants for fines. Additionally, 41 premises were checked, resulting in four reports being filed.
