British Bases Police report 26 arrests during busy holiday week

The Sovereign Base Areas (SBA) Police in western Cyprus reported 26 arrests during the week of August 21, 2026, following a period of high activity over a busy public holiday weekend. On August 16, officers arrested three individuals during a vehicle check; the driver tested positive for crystal methamphetamine, and two passengers were detained for illegal residence on the island.
