Nexus music festival in Kyrenia canceled following political pressure

The Nexus festival, which was organized by the Serbian company EXIT and scheduled for February 18 in the occupied city of Kyrenia, has been officially canceled. The "mayor" of the city, Murat Sengul, confirmed the cancellation through a social media post, attributing the decision to political pressure exerted by the Greek Cypriot leadership on the Serbian organizers.

Sengul expressed deep regret regarding the cancellation, citing the disappointment of local entrepreneurs and youth who had expected to participate in the event. He criticized the Greek Cypriot leadership, accusing it of attempting to isolate Turkish Cypriots from the international community in areas such as art and sports. Despite the setback, the "mayor" promised that the municipality would work to organize an even larger, globally recognized event with EXIT at the same location next year.
