Ministry of Education announces start dates for the 2026-2027 school year

The Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth of Cyprus has officially announced the schedule for the commencement of the 2026-2027 school year for public educational institutions. Students attending secondary general and secondary technical and vocational education programs will return to classes on Monday, September 7, 2026. Students in primary education are scheduled to begin their lessons one week later, on Monday, September 14, 2026.

Preparatory tasks for educators will precede the arrival of students to ensure schools are ready for the academic term. Teachers in the secondary education sector are required to assume their professional duties on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Meanwhile, educators in primary education will begin their duties on Monday, September 7, 2026. This schedule is intended to facilitate the necessary organizational preparations across all public schools in the country.
