String of robberies and vandalism targets ten businesses in Paphos

Between 03:00 and 05:30 on August 22, 2026, a series of coordinated attacks occurred across the Paphos district in Cyprus. Four hooded individuals on a single motorcycle targeted ten commercial establishments, including three pharmacies, three gas stations, two small supermarkets, and two kiosks. The perpetrators smashed glass displays with stones to gain entry, resulting in approximately 4,000 euros worth of stolen goods, with additional repair costs for the damaged properties still being calculated.

The crime spree followed a police operation in the Moutallos neighborhood, which had been conducted to address youth delinquency and recent attacks on food delivery riders. Assistant Police Chief Michalis Nikolaou stated that the authorities are currently analyzing surveillance footage and witness testimonies to identify the suspects. While no arrests have been made, the chronological link between the police operation and the subsequent vandalism remains a primary focus of the ongoing investigation, with police calling for public assistance in identifying the four perpetrators.
