Assessment of the Cypriot delegation in the European Parliament

Two years into the 2024–2029 term, the six Cypriot members of the European Parliament are being evaluated on their legislative performance and influence in Brussels and Strasbourg. As one of the smallest national delegations in the 720-seat body—shared only with Malta—the individual impact of each representative is considered crucial for Cyprus's standing in European politics.

Their legislative effectiveness is shaped by committee appointments, the backing of their respective political groups, and their involvement in specific legislative files. While attendance at plenary sessions and voting records serve as basic metrics for assessing their engagement, observers note that these figures alone do not fully reflect actual political influence or the success of their advocacy efforts.

Following the mid-term of the mandate, the focus remains on the qualitative output of these members as they navigate the complexities of EU decision-making.
