APOEL forward Nikolas Koutsakos to transfer to Norway for 500,000 euros

Cypriot forward Nikolas Koutsakos is set to depart APOEL Nicosia following a successful transfer agreement with an unnamed Norwegian club. After initial discussions regarding an offer near 300,000 euros were rejected, the Norwegian side agreed to a counter-offer exceeding 500,000 euros, which met the financial requirements set by the Cypriot club. The deal is now in its final stages, pending standard administrative procedures.

The 22-year-old striker is expected to travel to Norway within the coming days to undergo medical examinations and finalize his contract. This move marks a significant shift for APOEL’s roster, as the team had previously intended to maintain its current attacking lineup. However, with Koutsakos’s departure, sporting director Zisis Vryzas is now expected to return to the transfer market to search for a new forward, as the team's depth has been compromised.

Koutsakos follows a recent trend of Cypriot strikers moving to Scandinavia, joining the ranks of Pieros Sotiriou, Ioannis Pittas, and Andronikos Kakoullis, who have pursued similar professional paths in recent years.
