Greek police dismantle drug ring trafficking pink cocaine in Mykonos
On the morning of Friday, August 21, 2026, the Hellenic Police (EL.AS) successfully dismantled a criminal organization involved in the trafficking of illegal substances, specifically pink cocaine and ecstasy, on the island of Mykonos. The operation was led by the Sub-directorate for Drug Trafficking of the Organized Crime Division, with assistance from the Special Operational Units. A total of ten individuals were arrested, including nine members of the criminal network and a 22-year-old individual detained for separate drug possession.
A 35-year-old suspect, identified by authorities as the group's leader, reportedly managed the entire supply chain, including the procurement, transport, storage, and standardization of the narcotics, as well as the recruitment of customers and management of illicit proceeds. A second 35-year-old was identified as his primary accomplice, responsible for guarding the drugs and assisting in local distribution efforts.
The police crackdown followed an extensive investigation involving profiling and the utilization of intelligence data regarding the group's activities. The authorities confirmed the criminal operation after verifying information about the suspects' methods of identifying and soliciting clients on the island. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities process the evidence and prepare the cases against the detainees.
