Cypriot gymnast Marios Georgiou wins silver at European Championships in Zagreb

Cypriot gymnast Marios Georgiou earned the silver medal in the horizontal bar event at the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in Zagreb, Croatia, on August 22, 2026. Performing under the guidance of national coach Giannis Petridis, Georgiou recorded a final score of 14.200, placing him behind gold medalist Joe Fraser of Great Britain, who finished with 14.300, and ahead of Russian gymnast Savelii Sieedin, who secured the bronze with 14.066 points.

This achievement marks the seventh European Championship medal in the career of Marios Georgiou.
