Cyprus ministry of education announces curriculum and administrative reforms for the new school year
The Ministry of Education of Cyprus has officially communicated the implementation of new educational policies for the upcoming school year, specifically targeting Secondary General and Technical Education. The strategic framework is divided into three core pillars: improving learning quality, fostering equality in education, and enhancing administrative structures.
A primary focus within the quality improvement pillar is the modernization of curricula across all subjects and grade levels. A significant administrative shift for the current year includes the rationalization of course content to align taught material exactly with examinable content. This measure is intended to enhance academic consistency and reduce the pressure on students during examination periods. Furthermore, the ministry is promoting the development of digital and cognitive skills and ensuring a coherent body of knowledge is taught.
Regarding structural developments, the Ministry is continuing the operation of the All-Day Gymnasium for Interdisciplinary and Cross-Thematic Learning at the Pancyprian Gymnasium. These reforms represent a broader push to modernize the educational system by streamlining administrative processes and ensuring that classroom instruction remains strictly relevant to student assessment requirements.
