Omonia close to signing goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski

Cypriot football club Omonia is in advanced discussions to sign 33-year-old Belgian goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski, who is expected to leave English side Charlton Athletic. Kaminski was excluded from Charlton's squad for the season opener against Derby County following the club's decision to bring in Arthur Okonkwo on loan from Wrexham. Under coach Nathan Jones, Kaminski is no longer part of the team's long-term plans, making his departure from the English club a matter of time.

While Omonia prepares to finalize the deal for Kaminski, the club is simultaneously managing the departure of current goalkeeper Francis Uzoho. The administration is working to reach a mutual agreement regarding Uzoho's future, although he remains on the active roster for the time being. Uzoho is currently included in the squad for the upcoming second-leg match against Sint-Truiden at the GSP Stadium scheduled for next Thursday. The acquisition of a new goalkeeper has been a priority for Omonia, and the developments at Charlton have significantly accelerated the negotiations in favor of the Cypriot side.
