Infrastructure upgrades planned for Paphos airport road and Coral Bay highway
Authorities in Cyprus have begun formal processes to upgrade the long-neglected road connecting Timi community to Paphos Airport. Despite decades of usage, the road was only recently registered with the Land Registry, as its outdated infrastructure fails to accommodate the current high traffic volumes. The Parliamentary Committee on Transport, Communications and Works, currently engaged with local representatives, is prioritizing a resolution to these longstanding logistical issues.
Simultaneously, officials are pushing for the construction of a modern four-lane avenue stretching from the Tombs of the Kings in Lower Paphos to Coral Bay in Pegeia. This project aims to alleviate severe traffic congestion that has plagued the western coastal region this summer. Following initial coordination meetings at the Ministry of Transport and the Akamas Municipal Hall, the government and planners are now focused on accelerating the implementation of this major infrastructure goal, which has remained in planning stages for years.
