Aris Limassol signs Werton on loan

Aris Limassol has acquired 22-year-old Brazilian winger Werton on loan from Portuguese club Leixoes SC. The player has integrated into the squad for the 2026 season, with local reports identifying him as a key addition expected to feature prominently in the Cypriot championship.

Werton de Almeida Rêgo, born on September 16, 2003, in Benjamin Constant, Brazil, developed his skills in the Flamengo youth academy starting at age nine. He made his professional debut for Flamengo in July 2021 at age 17 and later secured the Campeonato Carioca title in 2024. Standing 1.70 meters tall, the right-footed forward is noted for his speed and one-on-one attacking capabilities. Before moving to Cyprus, he had played 12 matches for Flamengo's first team, scoring one goal.

The loan agreement includes an option for Aris Limassol to purchase the player permanently upon the expiration of the loan period. The club is currently monitoring his progress as he begins his tenure in the Limassol team.
