Cultural events and summer festival schedule in Cyprus

Cyprus hosts a variety of cultural events from late August through mid-September. The newly formed Cyprus Saxophone Orchestra, led by Yiannis Myralis, performed their "Saxophone Festivities" concerts on August 24 at the Paphos District Archaeological Museum and August 25 at the Protaras pedestrian street. In cinema, the 27th Summer Screening Marathon continues at the Constantia open-air cinema in Nicosia until September 13. The program includes films such as "The President’s Cake," "Sorda (Deaf)," "Caravaggio’s Shadow," "Kneecap," and "Banel & Adama." Meanwhile, the Parabasis Theater Group in Lympia marks the 20th anniversary of its theater festival, which runs from August 26 to September 13 at the Idalion Amphitheater, featuring performances by amateur groups from across the island.

Additionally, the publishing sector highlights the release of Stephen Fry’s modern retelling of Homer’s "Odyssey," published by Patakis Editions. The 464-page book, priced at €19.90, focuses on the post-Trojan War journeys of Odysseus and Agamemnon.
