Four suspects arrested following vehicle arson attacks in Dali
In the early hours of Monday, August 24, 2026, a series of arson attacks targeted vehicles in the Dali region of Nicosia. At approximately 3:32 am, the Fire Service received a call regarding fires involving three vehicles in total: one parked on a public road and two others located in a private garage. While two of the vehicles were completely destroyed, a third sustained extensive damage. The Acropolis Fire Station responded quickly, bringing the blaze under control by 4:02 am.
Investigations led by the Nicosia CID, supported by surveillance footage, successfully identified a suspect vehicle fleeing the scene. Following a coordinated police operation, four men aged 20, 20, 21, and 24 were arrested. It was later discovered that the suspects were involved in a separate traffic accident near Paramali in the Limassol district shortly after the arson, which resulted in the serious injury of one of the suspects, who is now recovering in the hospital. The four individuals appeared before the Nicosia District Court, where authorities requested their detention to facilitate further investigation into conspiracy and arson charges. One of the suspects is reportedly cooperating with the authorities as the investigation continues.
