Maria Erokhina concludes Cyprus participation at swimming championships

On Sunday, August 23, 2026, Maria Erokhina concluded the Cypriot participation at the swimming events held at the Torre d’ Ayala Swimming Stadium. During the final of the 200m breaststroke event, she placed 7th with a time of 2:31.47.

Earlier in the day, during the qualification heats for the same event, Erokhina recorded a faster time of 2:30.37, finishing 3rd in her heat and 4th overall out of nine competitors. The day also featured Kalia Antoniou, who participated in the 50m backstroke heats and finished with a time of 29.27, placing 3rd in her heat and 7th out of 15 swimmers overall. These performances marked the final appearances for the Cyprus delegation at the competition, as confirmed by the Cyprus Olympic Committee.
