Diplomatic visits to Tehran regarding the Strait of Hormuz
High-level diplomatic meetings are scheduled in Tehran this week to discuss the situation regarding the Strait of Hormuz. Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, announced that Badr Albusaidi, the Foreign Minister of Oman, is set to arrive in the Iranian capital on Tuesday. The talks are expected to focus on regional security and maritime transit matters.
Simultaneously, the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, General Asim Munir, was scheduled to visit Tehran on Sunday. Pakistan is recognized for its role as a mediator between the United States and Iran, alongside other international actors. These diplomatic engagements highlight ongoing efforts to manage tensions in the region, particularly concerning the strategic waterway of the Strait of Hormuz.
