Strovolos municipality considers traffic regulation measures for Averof street
The Technical Committee, in coordination with the Strovolos Municipality, is planning to implement traffic regulation measures on Averof street near the old City Hall following complaints from residents regarding excessive speed and transit traffic. According to a response by Minister of Justice and Public Order Costas Fytiris to a parliamentary question by MP Savia Orphanidou, the committee has proposed making a section of Klearchou street, from the junction with Th. Kolokotroni street to Averof street, a one-way road. The goal is to eliminate transit traffic flow towards Averof street.
While the proposal has been drafted, the measures have not yet been implemented. The plan requires formal approval from the Strovolos Municipal Council and the legally mandated consent of the Chief of Police. Once these authorizations are obtained, the municipality will be responsible for the installation of the necessary traffic signage and road markings. The matter is currently pending a final decision by the Municipal Council.
