Four arrested in Paphos following violent attack on food delivery workers

Police in Paphos have arrested four individuals in connection with a violent incident on August 18, 2026, targeting food delivery workers. The conflict began in the Moutallos area around 8:40 p.m. when a 26-year-old delivery driver was attacked by a group that refused to pay for an order. The situation escalated when other delivery riders arrived to assist their colleague, leading to a clash with approximately ten men, some armed with metal objects. Several delivery riders were injured, and their motorcycles were damaged during the altercation.

The investigation has led to a series of arrests, with the most recent taking place on August 25 involving an 18-year-old suspect. A 34-year-old suspect, apprehended earlier, appeared before the Paphos District Court and was remanded in custody for four days. The other two suspects also remain in detention to facilitate the ongoing inquiry. Paphos Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is currently handling the case, which involves multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit a felony, robbery, assault causing actual bodily harm, riotous conduct, and illegal possession of offensive weapons.
