Paulo Fernandes joins Alanyaspor on loan from AEK Athens
AEK Athens has officially finalized an agreement to send 28-year-old midfielder Paulo Fernandes to the Turkish club Alanyaspor on a loan deal for the remainder of the 2026 season. The agreement includes an option for Alanyaspor to purchase the Spanish player at the end of the loan period. This move follows the club's decision to offload players not included in manager Marko Nikolic's future plans, joining Ljubicic and Eliasson who have also recently departed the team.
Fernandes spent the previous season on loan at Al-Khaleej, where he recorded 31 appearances, scoring 6 goals and providing 5 assists. Following this transfer, AEK Athens is reportedly focusing on finalizing the departure of Frantzdy Pierrot, who is also considered surplus to requirements by the coaching staff. The current transfer activities indicate a significant restructuring of the AEK squad under Nikolic as the club looks to trim its roster before the end of the window.
