Couple dies within thirty days in Patras, Greece

A tragic double loss has struck a family in Patras, Greece, as a husband and wife passed away within just thirty days of each other. The husband, 55-year-old Alexandros Kapatsoulias, died in July and was laid to rest on July 23, 2026. His wife, Maria Giannakopoulou, a distinguished child psychiatrist, passed away exactly one month later, just days before her husband's scheduled 40-day memorial service.

The couple is survived by their daughter, Anna, who is currently a student in the second grade of high school. The funeral for Maria Giannakopoulou is scheduled to take place today, marking the conclusion of a difficult month for the surviving family members who were preparing for the memorial service of Mr. Kapatsoulias before this second tragedy occurred.
