Panathinaikos reaches deal to sell Adam Gnezda Cerin to Al Wahda
Panathinaikos has reached a verbal agreement with the Emirati club Al Wahda for the transfer of 27-year-old midfielder Adam Gnezda Cerin. The deal is valued at approximately three million euros, allowing the Greek club to streamline its roster in the central midfield position.
Cerin is expected to travel to Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, to undergo medical examinations and finalize the contract. Having joined Panathinaikos in September 2022 from Nuremberg for about 500,000 euros, the Slovenian international became a key player for the team. Over his tenure with the 'Greens', he recorded 171 appearances, scoring 12 goals and providing seven assists across all official competitions. This transfer represents a significant financial gain for the club compared to his original acquisition cost.
While final details are currently being ironed out, no further obstacles are expected to prevent the completion of the move. Once the medicals are passed and signatures are finalized, the transition will be officially completed.
