President Christodoulides meets with top-performing students of the Pancyprian Exams
On August 24, 2026, the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, hosted a meeting at the Presidential Palace for the top-performing students of the recent Pancyprian Examinations. The event was also attended by the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Athena Michaelidou.
During the meeting, President Christodoulides congratulated the students and their families for their academic success. The discussion focused on the students' chosen fields of study and the effectiveness of the vocational guidance provided within the school system. The President emphasized that Cyprus holds one of the highest rates of high school and technical school graduates pursuing higher education in the European Union.
Addressing the students, President Christodoulides stressed the national importance of human capital, noting that the state is actively working to encourage graduates to return to Cyprus for employment after completing their studies abroad. He highlighted the government's ongoing efforts to offer incentives to attract talent back to the island, viewing the return of these young professionals as a vital component for the country’s development and its future workforce.
