Nicosia Municipality launches architectural competition for municipal garden redevelopment
The Nicosia Municipality, through the Intermunicipal Development Projects of Nicosia (DAEL), has officially launched an architectural competition for the redevelopment of the Nicosia Municipal Garden. Following a public presentation of the project on July 10, 2026, the formal competition was published on August 20, 2026, to solicit proposals covering architectural, environmental, spatial, and construction parameters.
The competition documentation is currently available on the government's e-procurement portal. Interested architects are required to submit their proposals by the deadline of November 10, 2026. The preliminary estimated cost for the implementation of the project is approximately 4.1 million euros, excluding VAT. The winner of the first prize will be awarded the contract to finalize the study and oversee the construction of the garden.
This project represents a long-planned initiative by the municipality to revitalize the public space. Interested parties are encouraged to register on the e-procurement platform to receive updates, modifications, or clarifications during the bidding process. The municipality aims to complete the selection process through this open competition, ensuring high-quality design and structural standards for the city's green space.
