Major renovation underway at Peace and Friendship Stadium

The Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF), the home court of the Olympiacos basketball team, is undergoing an extensive 15-million-euro renovation project funded by the Angelopoulos brothers. The initiative aims to modernize the historic venue's infrastructure and aesthetic appeal.

Key structural changes include the demolition of existing stands to accommodate new suites and the removal of the old floor. The new court will be placed approximately three meters lower than the current level to increase seating capacity and bring spectators closer to the action. Work on the practice facility is nearly complete, with the Olympiacos first team already using Room 3 for daily training. The practice areas, academy courts, and new administrative offices for the club are expected to be fully operational by mid-September.

This investment reflects a significant effort to transform the arena into a modern sports facility. Ongoing construction has been visually documented during recent inspections by George Angelopoulos, highlighting the progress made on both the main arena and auxiliary training grounds.
