Panathinaikos BC begins 2026-27 season preparations under Zeljko Obradovic

Panathinaikos BC officially commenced its preparation for the 2026-27 season on August 25, 2026, at the Telekom Center Athens training facility. Under the leadership of head coach Zeljko Obradovic, the team held its first training session to establish the club's new competitive philosophy and culture. The session featured high-profile attendance, including Kostas Sloukas and new signing Moustapha Fall, who expressed his primary goal as winning the EuroLeague.

Due to ongoing national team commitments, seven players were absent: Dinos Mitoglou, Panagiotis Kalaitzakis, Dimitris Moraitis, Juancho Hernangomez, Isaac Bonga, Sylvain Francisco, and Brancou Badio. Furthermore, Kendrick Nunn is currently sidelined following a knee injury. To maintain effective training, the coaching staff recruited auxiliary players including Vasilis Mouratos, Ilias Trikkas, Tyler Peterson, Iasonas Varvaritis, Michalis Liapis, Tilemachos Vissariou, Linos Chrysikopoulos, and Ryan Soulis.

Looking ahead, the coaching staff expects the full roster to return by the following week. Kostas Sloukas and Mathias Lessort are currently on individual recovery programs. The team is preparing for its official EuroLeague season opener, which is scheduled for September 24, 2026, against Paris Basketball at the Telekom Center Athens.
