Cyprus Cabinet convenes to discuss educational and infrastructural initiatives

The Cypriot Cabinet is meeting today, August 25, 2026, for its second session following the recent government reshuffle initiated by President Nikos Christodoulides. The agenda features a proposal from the Ministry of Education to establish three additional all-day schools as part of efforts to improve the national education system.

Infrastructure developments are also a priority, with the Ministry of Justice and Public Order presenting plans for the construction of a new fire station and a new police headquarters. Furthermore, the council is expected to address public health by discussing the creation of a national strategy and a national committee dedicated to multiple sclerosis. The session may also include a review of subsidy schemes proposed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, as well as the submission of the semi-annual fiscal policy report by the Ministry of Finance.
