Nicosia district government signs digital infrastructure deal with Eyath

On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, the Nicosia District Self-Government Organization (EOA) signed a contract with the Thessaloniki Water Supply and Sewage Company (EYATH) to modernize the management of water and sewage infrastructure. This partnership follows a Memorandum of Understanding established between the two organizations last May. The agreement, valued at €257,699, is set to span 38 months, although one source erroneously cited a 28-month duration.

The project focuses on implementing advanced Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to create a unified geospatial database. EYATH will provide technical expertise to assist EOA Nicosia in digitizing and integrating data for water supply, sewage, and rainwater networks. Furthermore, the collaboration includes developing an Enterprise GIS infrastructure and conducting professional training for local staff. The initiative aims to optimize operational processes and improve service delivery to citizens.

Representing the Nicosia organization, the contract was signed by President Constantinos Yiorkadjis, General Manager Constantinos Parmaklis, and Financial Manager Antonis Antoniou. On behalf of EYATH, the document was signed by CEO Anthimos Amanatidis. District Governor Yiorkadjis emphasized that this digital transformation is critical for making informed decisions and responding effectively to infrastructure needs. The deal represents a significant step in the regional strategy to modernize utility management.
