Volunteer council provides school supply vouchers to wildfire-affected families

The Pancyprian Volunteer Coordinators Council (PVCC) distributed gift vouchers for school supplies on Tuesday to families in six communities within the Limassol district. This initiative aims to assist students and university pupils whose households are still facing financial instability following the devastating wildfires that struck the region in 2025.

A delegation led by PVCC President Ilias Dimitriou delivered the aid to representatives from the communities of Agios Amvrosios, Agios Therapontas, Vasa Koilaniou, Vouni, Pachna, and Souni-Zanakia. The funding for these vouchers was raised through a public appeal conducted by the Council specifically to support those affected by the 2025 fire disaster. This distribution is part of the ongoing "All Children Need School Supplies" campaign, which focuses on providing essential academic materials to children in vulnerable situations.

The initiative reflects the organization's commitment to long-term community recovery and disaster relief. By focusing on the upcoming academic year, the Council seeks to mitigate the educational impact of the lingering economic strain caused by the fire damages in these specific localities.
