Cablenet signs international broadcasting deal with Arena Sport
On August 25, 2026, the Cypriot telecommunications company Cablenet announced a significant three-year partnership with Arena Sport, a major broadcaster owned by the Telekom Srbija Group. This deal aims to expand the international reach of Cypriot football by broadcasting home matches of APOEL, Anorthosis, and Omonia 29M to a regional audience exceeding 10 million viewers.
The content will be distributed across six countries: Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. Arena Sport, based in Belgrade, is a prominent broadcaster known for carrying premium sports content, including major European football leagues like the Premier League, La Liga, and the UEFA Champions League, as well as the Serbian national championships.
This agreement represents a strategic effort by Cablenet to utilize its existing television rights to gain exposure in the Balkan market. By integrating Cypriot football content into the programming of a major regional provider, the partnership seeks to elevate the profile of local clubs among a much broader, international fan base.
