In his initial match, the 28-year-old secured a victory against American Jenson Brooksby with scores of 6-4 and 7-6, despite committing 45 unforced errors during the two-hour contest.

Moving to the next stage, Tsitsipas faced Aleksandar Kovacevic, who had previously defeated Luca Van Assche. During their match, which took place in the early hours of Thursday, August 27, Tsitsipas lost in straight sets with scores of 3-6 and 6-7. The match was characterized by a competitive second set that forced a tie-break, during which Kovacevic secured the win after Tsitsipas failed to capitalize on multiple break points throughout the game.
