Department of Road Transport alerts public on dangerous vehicles

The Cyprus Department of Road Transport has issued an official alert regarding a list of vehicles identified as dangerous during the 32nd and 33rd weeks of 2026. The affected vehicles, which were identified through the EU Safety Gate rapid alert system, include camper vans, buses, light commercial vehicles, passenger cars, pickup trucks, and motorcycles. The primary risks associated with these vehicles involve fire hazards and the potential for serious injury.

The Department has issued a formal directive to all manufacturers, authorized representatives, distributors, importers, and sellers—including those operating online or remotely—who have placed these products on the Cypriot market. These economic operators are required to notify the Department and take all necessary measures to recall the products in accordance with existing legislation. Furthermore, consumers who own a vehicle matching the description of the notified models are advised to contact the manufacturer or the authorized local representative immediately for further instructions on safety measures.
