Fire controlled at an industrial facility in Aradippou

On the evening of August 25, 2026, a fire broke out at a bakery production facility in the industrial area of Aradippou, Cyprus. The emergency call was received by the Fire Service at 19:09. Five fire engines and a telescopic vehicle from the Larnaca fire stations and the Disaster Response Special Unit (EMAK) were deployed to combat the blaze. Authorities successfully brought the fire under control by 19:39, within 30 minutes of the initial alert.

Following the suppression of the fire, emergency personnel conducted a thorough search of the premises to locate any potentially trapped individuals. The Fire Service confirmed that no persons were found inside, as the factory was not in operation at the time the fire started.

While no injuries have been reported, the facility and its contents sustained extensive damage due to the fire and heat. The scene is currently being guarded by police, and a formal investigation will be launched to determine the exact causes of the incident once the site is deemed secure.
