Fire extinguished at bakery warehouse in Aradippou industrial area
A fire broke out on the evening of Tuesday, August 25, 2026, in a small bakery warehouse located within the industrial area of Aradippou, Larnaca. Emergency services were alerted as thick black smoke covered the surrounding area, which is situated near a residential zone. Multiple sources confirm that the blaze was brought under control within thirty minutes of the arrival of firefighting units.
Five fire engines and a hydraulic platform vehicle from the Larnaca fire stations and EMAK were deployed to manage the situation. Authorities successfully completed a search of the facility and confirmed that the building was empty at the time of the incident, resulting in no reported injuries.
Local reports suggest the fire originated in an oven within the facility, which is located in close proximity to another site that experienced a fire earlier this month. The scene remains under police guard, and investigators are currently working to determine the exact cause of the fire. Firefighting personnel and equipment will remain on-site as a precautionary measure.
