Pafos Aphrodite Festival 2026 to present L'Elisir d'Amore

The Pafos Aphrodite Festival 2026 is set to take place on September 4 and 5, 2026, at the medieval castle square in Paphos, Cyprus. This year’s event features a production of Gaetano Donizetti’s comic opera, L’Elisir d’Amore (The Elixir of Love).

The production is a large-scale international collaboration involving 150 contributors, featuring the Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre of Armenia and the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra will be conducted by the internationally acclaimed maestro Karen Durgaryan. Organizers have opted for a modern, post-apocalyptic stage interpretation, aiming to blend classical opera with a contemporary visual and thematic aesthetic.

This festival has established itself as a significant cultural institution in the region, consistently utilizing the historic atmosphere of the Paphos medieval castle as a backdrop for international artistic exchanges. By combining the talents of Armenian performers and the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, the event continues its tradition of fostering cross-border cultural cooperation.
