Road closures and maintenance work announced in Limassol and Nicosia regions

The Municipality of Limassol has announced the temporary closure of a section of Agios Fanourios Street for traffic on August 26 and August 27, 2026. The restriction, effective between 17:00 and 22:00, affects the stretch between Myrras Street and Ambrakikou Street. This measure was authorized with the consent of the Cyprus Police to facilitate a religious festival in honor of Saint Fanourios. Violators of this directive are subject to penalties under the Municipal Law and the Limassol Municipal Regulations of 2006.

Separately, the Department of Public Works has announced infrastructure maintenance on two major routes. Between September 1 and September 2, 2026, from 22:00 to 06:00, garbage collection operations will take place on the central median of the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, requiring the partial closure of the fast lane from Pendaschoinos to the GSP roundabout. Furthermore, water pipe installation works are scheduled to begin on the Episkopi-Mandria road (E601) starting August 31 and continuing through December 31, 2026. Public authorities urge drivers to follow temporary signage and police instructions to avoid accidents during these periods.
