Road closures announced for Limassol festival and regional motorway maintenance

The Municipality of Limassol has announced the temporary closure of a section of Agios Fanourios Street to accommodate a local festival honoring Saint Fanourios. The segment between Myrras Street and Amvrakikou Street will be closed to traffic on August 26 and August 27, 2026, from 17:00 to 22:00. Violators of this measure will be subject to penalties under the Municipal Law of Cyprus and 2006 Limassol Municipal Regulations.

Separately, the Department of Public Works has scheduled maintenance and infrastructure projects. Between August 31 and December 31, 2026, water pipe installation will take place on the Episkopi-Mandria road (E601). Furthermore, rubbish collection on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway central reservation is set for September 1 and September 2, 2026, from 22:00 to 06:00, requiring partial lane closures. Additionally, the right lane of the Nicosia-Larnaca motorway, near Pera Chorio Nisou and Alambra, was closed for cleaning on August 28, 2026, from 09:30 to 11:00. Motorists are advised to follow all temporary signage and police instructions to ensure safety during these periods of restricted traffic flow.
