Two international rating agencies to assess Cyprus in September
Two international credit rating agencies are scheduled to announce their latest evaluations of the Republic of Cyprus during September 2026. The Canadian agency DBRS Morningstar will release its report on September 4, followed by the American agency Standard and Poor’s on September 18. Cyprus currently maintains an investment-grade rating from all major rating agencies, reflecting its ongoing economic stability.
These upcoming reviews follow previous confirmations made in March 2026. On March 13, DBRS reaffirmed Cyprus’s long-term rating at the 'A' investment grade with a stable outlook, citing strong fiscal performance, a healthy banking sector, and political stability. Similarly, on March 20, Standard and Poor’s confirmed a rating of 'A-' with a positive outlook. These evaluations are considered critical indicators of the country's economic health and investment attractiveness, and observers will be monitoring both reports to see if current ratings are maintained or adjusted based on the latest performance data.
