Recent crime and accident incidents in Limassol

Several incidents of violence and traffic accidents were reported in Limassol between August 27 and 30, 2026. On August 27, a 41-year-old man was robbed of his electric scooter by four individuals near the Molos area. Separately, a 23-year-old was attacked by five people in the Agios Nikolaos district; when police arrived, a group of about ten masked individuals damaged the police patrol car before fleeing. Authorities are investigating whether these cases are linked.

On August 28, a violent confrontation occurred in the Agios Athanasios area following a minor traffic accident between a motorcyclist and a car driver. Video footage shows the motorcyclist beating the driver. Police subsequently identified and arrested the suspect, while the case has been referred to the Legal Service for further instructions. The victim was treated for head injuries at a private hospital.

Finally, on August 29, a serious road collision occurred on the Limassol-Platres road near Alassa, involving two vehicles. Four people, including a 62-year-old couple and their 32-year-old daughter, were hospitalized. The Fire Service had to use specialized equipment to extricate one of the victims. Investigations into the causes of the collision remain ongoing.
