Series of violent incidents reported in Limassol
Limassol police are investigating several violent incidents that occurred between August 26 and August 28, 2026. On the night of August 26, a 23-year-old was attacked by five people outside a kiosk in Agios Nikolaos. When police arrived, a group of approximately ten masked individuals confronted the officers and damaged a patrol car with a club before fleeing. In a separate incident around midnight, a 41-year-old man was robbed of his electric scooter by four assailants while riding near the Molos area.
Separately, on August 28, a violent physical confrontation occurred in the Agios Athanasios area following a traffic accident between a car and a motorcycle. Video footage showing a motorcyclist brutally beating another man circulated on social media. Although no official complaint was initially filed, authorities used surveillance footage to identify the participants. Police have since located the individuals involved in the road rage incident, and the case has been referred to the Legal Service to determine charges, which may include actual bodily harm and common assault. Investigations into the other attacks remain ongoing.
