77-year-old man in critical condition after traffic accident in Paphos

A 77-year-old man is in serious condition following a single-vehicle traffic accident that occurred in Paphos on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. The incident took place at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Vasileos Stasioikou Avenue.

According to police reports, the driver lost control of his vehicle under circumstances that are currently being investigated. The car veered off the road and collided with the perimeter wall of a residential property, where it came to a halt. Emergency services transported the victim to the Polis Chrysochous Hospital initially. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was subsequently transferred to the Paphos General Hospital, where he underwent surgery.

Medical staff have described the victim's health status as serious. The Polis Chrysochous Police Station is currently conducting an investigation into the exact cause of the collision to determine the factors that led to the loss of control.
