Two women arrested in Larnaca for operating a brothel and theft
On August 27, 2026, police in Larnaca arrested two Brazilian nationals, aged 25 and 26, who had arrived in Cyprus in July. The women were taken into custody around 3:40 a.m. initially for the offense of receiving stolen goods. Subsequent investigations by the Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department (TAE) revealed their alleged involvement in multiple criminal activities, including theft, conspiracy to commit a felony and misdemeanor, and the unauthorized operation of a brothel in a local apartment.
According to the head of the Larnaca TAE, Giorgos Charalambous, evidence gathered links the suspects to these various offenses. The authorities are currently processing the case as part of a broader investigation into their activities in the city. The two women are scheduled to appear before the Larnaca District Court later today, where the police will request official detention orders to facilitate further questioning and the collection of additional evidence regarding the criminal charges.
