Food delivery rider assaulted in Larnaca

Police in Larnaca are investigating an assault against a 34-year-old food delivery worker that occurred in the early hours of Thursday, August 27, 2026. According to the victim's report, he was driving his moped along Dianellou Street at approximately 2:30 a.m. when he was approached by two individuals riding a motorcycle.

The suspects reportedly struck the delivery worker with a club, causing him to lose control of his moped, crash into a parked vehicle, and fall onto the roadway. Following the collision, the attackers fled the scene. The 34-year-old man was transported to the Larnaca General Hospital for medical treatment and was subsequently discharged.

The case is being handled by the Larnaca Minor Offences Department, which is currently conducting an investigation to identify the perpetrators and establish the circumstances behind the attack. There is no information yet regarding the potential motive or the current status of the suspects.
