Cyprus petroleum sales increased in July 2026

According to data released by the Statistical Service of Cyprus on August 27, 2026, total petroleum sales in the country reached 146,656 tons in July, marking a 1.3% increase compared to the same month in 2025. Sales from gas stations specifically rose by 5.9% to reach 66,187 tons. When compared to the previous month of June 2026, total petroleum sales increased by 13.3%.

Significant growth was observed across several categories, including aircraft refueling (3.2%), heavy and light fuel oil (166.9% and 20.1% respectively), liquefied petroleum gas (7.3%), gasoline (6.2%), diesel (5.5%), and asphalt (4.4%). Conversely, petroleum supplies to ships declined by 35.3% year-on-year and 25.9% month-on-month. The data indicates an overall rise of 1.2% in total petroleum sales for the period from January to July 2026 compared to the previous year.

There is a notable discrepancy in reporting regarding end-of-month stocks. While Politis reported a decrease of 14.3% in total petroleum stocks by the end of July 2026 compared to June, OmegaLive reported an increase of 14.3% for the same period.
