Update on Limassol sewerage system construction and traffic regulations
The Limassol District Self-Government Organization (EOA) has announced that construction work on the city's sewerage project will resume on August 24, 2026, following a summer break that lasted from August 6 to August 23. Traffic regulations, including the use of temporary traffic lights and single-lane access, are being implemented on G. Kalogeropoulos Street and Myrtou Street. For urgent road-related issues, the public can contact the EOA at 25 271000.
The broader sewerage project is currently 85% complete, involving work on approximately 270 streets, with construction finished on about 230 of them. Current efforts are concentrated on the Mouttagiaka self-housing area, while final connections are being installed in Pano Polemidia. A partial handover of the project was completed in October 2025 for the Omonoia, Agios Spyridonas, Agios Ioannis, and Agia Fyla settlements.
The project is operating under a revised timeline following approved extensions by relevant authorities. The final completion date for the entire project is scheduled for February 11, 2027.
