Olympiacos completes the signing of Norwegian defender Marcus Holmgren Pedersen

Olympiacos has officially announced the signing of 26-year-old Norwegian international right-back Marcus Holmgren Pedersen. The player joins the Greek club from the Italian Serie A side Torino, following a deal reportedly worth 6 million euros, with an additional 2 million euros in potential performance-related bonuses. Pedersen has signed a four-year contract with the Piraeus-based team.

The transfer process concluded on August 29, 2026, after the player had arrived in Athens earlier in the week to undergo medical and physical examinations. Although the negotiations hit a temporary pause on August 28 as the club explored alternative defensive options, such as Fiorentina's Dodo, Olympiacos ultimately decided to finalize the agreement with Pedersen to bolster their squad ahead of the Europa League registration deadline.

Pedersen, born on July 16, 2000, brings extensive professional experience to Olympiacos, having previously played for Feyenoord, Sassuolo, Molde, and Tromso. With 36 international caps for Norway and significant participation in major European competitions and the recent World Cup, his acquisition is a strategic move to strengthen the right side of the Olympiacos defense for the upcoming season.
