Manchester Airports Group reports major data breach

The Manchester Airports Group (MAG), which operates the Manchester, London Stansted, and East Midlands airports, announced that personal information of 8.7 million passengers was compromised in a cyberattack. The unauthorized access occurred over the weekend, although the company was only notified of the breach on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

Stolen data includes email addresses, phone numbers, vehicle registration numbers, and postal codes related to parking reservations, airport lounge bookings, Fast Track services, and Wi-Fi network registrations. MAG clarified that no banking or payment details were compromised. The operator emphasized that the incident caused no operational disruption, and passenger or aviation safety remained uncompromised. The company is currently collaborating with specialized security experts to manage the aftermath of the breach.
