AS Monaco Basket faces uncertainty over professional league participation

AS Monaco Basket is awaiting a critical decision regarding its status in professional basketball leagues and the EuroCup, following a disciplinary threat of exclusion. On August 25, the club met with the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) to present a financial plan for the 2026/2027 season, asserting that all past debts have been cleared and the team is now fiscally sound.

On August 27, the situation shifted significantly as reports emerged that a major European corporation has taken a controlling interest in the club. This investor has committed 10 million euros for the upcoming season, with a portion of the funds already deposited into the club's account. This financial injection, reportedly approved by the National Financing Company (SNF), bolsters the club's position alongside existing sponsorship agreements and a previously presented budget of 6-7 million euros.

The club maintains that its improved financial standing renders the initial exclusion unnecessary. The final decision from the French sporting authorities remains pending as officials evaluate the updated fiscal documentation and ownership changes.
