Safe Bulkers announces 2026-2027 scholarship program for maritime studies
Safe Bulkers Inc., a company listed on the NYSE, and its CEO Polys V. Hajioannou have launched their sixth annual scholarship program for the 2026-2027 academic year. The initiative, part of the company's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policy, provides ten scholarships worth €10,000 each to students pursuing professional careers in the maritime industry.
Eligible applicants include Cypriot citizens and Greek citizens permanently residing in Cyprus who are graduates of local schools or currently enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate master’s programs abroad. The program covers fields such as naval architecture, marine engineering, electrical and computer engineering, automation, cyber security, artificial intelligence, data science, and shipping law. Selection is based on academic merit and social criteria, including family income and marital status.
