University of Nicosia launches new English-taught pharmacy programme

The University of Nicosia (UNIC) has announced the launch of an English-taught Integrated Master in Pharmacy (MPharm) for the 2026–2027 academic year. This five-year, full-time programme is based at the university’s main campus in Nicosia and will be offered in both English and Greek to accommodate domestic and international students.

The curriculum covers essential pharmaceutical disciplines, including medicinal chemistry, pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical technology, pharmaceutical analysis, quality control, and drug research. To facilitate hands-on learning, the programme utilizes eight specialized pharmacy laboratories. According to Professor Christos Petrou, Head of the Department of Health Sciences, the expansion is intended to provide Cypriot students with local options comparable to studying abroad, while also attracting international students who prefer an English-language European educational destination.

Applications are currently open for the Fall 2026 intake. Interested candidates must meet the university’s established admissions requirements and procedures to enroll in the programme, which aims to maintain high educational standards while broadening access to pharmacy qualifications in Cyprus.
